With Who Are You?, his second album on the legendary Blue Note label, Joel Ross confirms his reputation as a great promise of American jazz. Ever since his debut KingMaker, the young vibes player has been hailed by the press. Critics have compared him to eminent colleagues such as Milt Jackson and Bobby Hutcherson. ‘A maestro at the vibraphone, a sharp band leader’ (Pitchfork).

Joes Ross made new in the Chicago jazz scene and he currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. He appeared on successful albums by Makaya McCraven and Marquis Hill. On his own albums he reveals his qualities as a sophisticated composer and band leader, whether he deals with atmospheric sounds, or grooves inspired by dance, hip-hop and M-Base.
