The Peak started his DJ career in 1988 at a youth hostel in Germany were he played on several occasions. Back then he was interested in the upcoming New Beat & the old electronic New Wave school Especially by artists like Front 242, Fad Gadget & The Neon Judgment. He later on moved to Ostend / Belgium where he played at several house parties in small local clubs on a regular base.
After a period of 4 years, playing the more commercial anthems & seeing that commercialism was taking over, he decided to take a break from the DJ-ing scene. He had played on numerous occasions and in several clubs as Comix in Diest where he was a resident at that time. It was in 1995 when he changed his DJ-Nick into 'The Peak'. This moment in his life was mostly controlled by Stanny Franssen. He had heard this mega performer on a radio show called 'Teknoville' and decided that 'Techno' was the new tool to perform with.
From then on his DJ-career got a boost. He started in organizing local Techno-parties and invited the more 'known' DJ's in the Belgian Techno scene such as Stanny Franssen (G-Force @ that time). In 1997 Marco Bailey heard him play and decide to book him for an upcoming party. Since then he is booked on several occasions by Marco & other organisers within Belgium. He is also represented by MB Elektronics Management. From then on he has shared the turntables with DJ's as ; Carl Cox, Claude Young, Umek, Ben Sims, Jay Denham, Cari Lekebusch, Speedy J. & many others.
In February 2002 he once again changed his DJ-Nick . From then on it would be 'Peak' This nick change came together with the start of a concept of his own. Phuzionz was born. The idea was to get 2 styles in 2 rooms at 1 location. Phuzionz seemed to be the logical concept name, the styles he combined were Techno & Drum 'n' Bass. Under the motto ; '2 stylez, 2 roomz, 1 lokation' he organised this project completely by himself. He has already booked very well known names in the current techno scene such as ; Gaetano Parisio, James Ruskin, Rino Cerrone, Danilo Vigorito, Stanny Franssen, Marco Bailey, Redhead & many others & earned their respect along the way.
The 4th. Edition (2004) was called ; NEW KOMBINEZ NIGHT. It featured Henrik B., Adam Jay, stanny Franssen, Peak himself offcoz, Carbo, Redrum and for the acid room none other then Woody McBride aka DJ ESP, G-Force (Stanny's evil acid twin !!), Arkanoid, Mr. Gasmask & Eliminator. In April 2003 he has launched Teknikal, together with DJ Carbo. This is a strictly techno orientated event in which DJ's will be invited who have excellent 'teknikal' skillzz !! Their first guest was Damon Wild from the USA, the man behind the succesfull Synewave label. Since last year Peak is performing @ numerous locations earning more & more respect in the Belgian Techno scene. From june 2003 onwards Peak is co-promoting the Recoded party concept @ The Zoo (Hasselt / Belgium).
