Biography Stroke69
As of May 2010, Sacco Koster has split up his dj activities and started to operate under two different monikers. As dj Feetback, Sacco spins the best classic tunes of the past 60 years (including today). Under the name of Stroke69 he delivers 'global & organic grooves' and chill-out tunes. Sacco no longer uses his first dj moniker ‘Zjelva’.
Sacco Koster, founder of Amsterdam based booking agency Zjelva Pro Motions, has been a dj since 1994. He lived in Prague from July 1994 till February 1996. That’s where he started his dj-career as dj Zjelva: in the legendary underground club Mis-Mas. After having played at various parties in Prague for local party-organisation Planet Alfa, Sacco became resident lounge-dj (avant la lettre) in Prague’s first houseclub Radost FX. Back in Holland he became lounge-resident in Club Stalker in Haarlem, where he regularly dj’ed till 2002 with live combo Morphic Vibrations. Since then, Sacco’s dj-career brought him to over 50 clubs and festivals all over the Netherlands, as well as to countries like England, South Africa, Australia, Russia and of course Czech Republic.
Sacco still loves to play for people at chill-out venues like beachclubs and cafes. Nevertheless he decided to focus more on the dancefloor after a couple of succesfull performances in 2002, one of which was at the annual Balloon party in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
When Sacco dj’s as Stroke69 his goal is enjoy people with a variety of great dance music, but especially global grooves such as balkan beats, kuduro, tropical bass, afrobeat, reggae and ska as well as organic grooves, such as latin/dub/afro influenced house. His dj-style is especially appropriate for an open-minded audience who come to dance and party.
The latter also counts when Sacco operates as dj Feetback, but in that case he leaves his dj-ego at home. He’s fully at service of the people who hire him, as long as they want to hear the best hits of the past 60 years, including pop, rock, disco, dance, reggae, r&b, funk, soul and alternative.
