as a kid i was always into music, especially rhythmic stuff. i grew up with all sorts of music, mainly rock and popmusic, and later on disco and some early hiphop. when i was about 10 years old i discovered a new style of music through my cousin. before, i already bought these houseparty and turn up the bass cd's, but this was completely different and new. this turned out to be hardcore. so everytime a new cd came out my cousin gave me a copy on tape and that's was everything i listened. finally for my birthday i got a cd player from my parents plus a cd of thunderdome vii. this was the beginning of it all. ever since i started listening to hardcore i wanted to visit a party, and not just any party, no it had to be the biggest of them all. so when i turned 15 or 16 finally the moment was there... mysteryland. this was the first "official" big gig i went to and definately not the last one.
everytime i went to a party the most interesting thing for me were the dj's. i saw them playing, and all i could think of was to do that myself. my parents knew this and when i came back from a long trip to portugal (for school) my parents and my sister had a surprise for me. when i went up to my room there was a complete dj-set incl. two huge monitorspeakers and a big pile of new records there, just waiting for me to use them. this was only the beginning of a musical career. that's why it was almost inevitable i started to produce music. first with a free music maker-a-like program which i didn't like, so after 1,5 month i switched to fasttracker ii (who didn't). after i met deester, he adviced me to switch to modplug tracker which i still use after all these years.
my mainproject is carnage, and i have a couple of side-projects.
in 2002 i saw that a lot of friends didn't have a smallest chance on a release, eventhough their tracks were very good, and definately release-quality. i decided to start my own label. it took me 2 years to get everything sorted out (i'm lazy sometimes :p). in january 2004 underground society was a fact and the first release was out.
at the end of 2006 i decided to move to rotterdam, so i was able to work together with dj niel (rotterdam records, coolman records), who already lived there and had a big studio. he owned zero tolerance records and we decided put both underground society records and zero tolerance records in one big company, which included a party organisation and a publishing company. after this was all done we changed underground society to usr and contacted drokz for the first release in the very succesful new series. after 17 releases, a couple of bookings in holland, germany, spain, belgium and france (among them were hardcore gladiators, ground zero, nature one, partyraiser one man half machine and much more) and 2 years of very hard work, i took a break from hardcore and its whole scene.
after a year of rest and silence i´m fully charged to get back in the studio again. i have quit all labels, to focus more on my own (and clusters´) career. a new studio, great ideas and good friends in music should make this all happen.
