The ingredient for an unforgettable night: DJ MAR/KaY In DJ MAR/KaY you will find one of the few DJ’s with the capacities and experience to launch a crowd through the roof. DJ MAR/KaY started performing when the first waves of house music reached The Netherlands. As almost every DJ it all got started with drive-in shows at local venues in the early nineties. In ’95 DJ MAR/KaY hooked up with DJ Stephan (IT) and at that point in his career the passion for house came to the surface. In House and Dance DJ MAR/KaY found the instruments to push his crowds to higher spheres. Performances on local stages like De Koepel en Disco Joy boosted his career to a higher level. In ’99 the performances at the local venues came to an end, as DJ MAR/KaY got the unique opportunity to host a radio show at a local station. For three years DJ MAR/KaY and his brother in law, the successful DJ Larry Licious, entertained many listeners in the weekends with developments in the Dance scene. After a quiet period, DJ MAR/KaY decides that it is comeback time. With the experience from years in the circuit, DJ MAR/KaY started to coach and support young and talented DJ’s. This resulted in a new concept: De DJ-makelaar (dj-broker). A careful selected database filled with DJ’s is the fundament of this concept, guaranteeing that every party has a DJ that matches the crowd. Unique for the branche is the possibility to hire VIP-DJ’s like Lieke van Lexmond. In the year 2009, DJ MAR/KaY could no longer stand the attraction of the turntables. Like old times, he formed a couple with Larry Licious. Together they started the TWIST&SPIN concept: two DJ’s on one turntable live. This exciting and entertaining live act is embraced by the crowd, resulting in an invitation to the festival of VathorstNOW with over 10.000 visitors. With a mix of self-made productions and existing tracks DJ MAR/KaY and DJ Larry Licious made sure that the visitors engraved this overwhelming performance in their conscience forever. Still it isn’t enough for DJ MAR/KaY, as he launches a new concept in 2009. As an experienced party organizer DJ MAR/KaY will shock the Dance scene in 2010, with new and fresh concepts.
