Biografie Born To Funk
Production duo BORN TO FUNK (Ferdinand Lijnkamp/Mattijs Muller) have claimed their place in the international house scene with flair this year. Their top quality productions have found their way to many hype charts and into the boxes of international top dj's. After their releases on Knee Deep (Di Bamba), Elan (You Rock Da House) and Soulfuric Trax (Souma Bana), the typical BORN TO FUNK -sound draw the attention of top notch artists in the business, like Simon Dunmore, Ron Carroll, Ian Carey and many more, all recognizing the unique groove and high quality production level of Amsterdam's finest house duo.
Highlights of 2006 include a remix for legend Ron Carroll entitled "Just Got Paid" (Body Music Chicago) and teaming up with MC Stretch to produce the self-titled "Born To Funk" for Ian Careys new label G-fab. The past few months, BORN TO FUNK also turned in remixes for Justin Michael ("Funky Love" on Swank Recordings), Davidson Ospina ("Meu Piano" on Ospina Digital), Mr O ("I Can Feel The Love" on Fluential) and Soul Flava ("Hot" on Delecto records).
Behind the decks, Ferdinand Lijnkamp (31) is the dj-ing half of BORN TO FUNK, doing about 100 gigs a year. Last year he has played all major venues in The Netherlands and beyond including clubs like Amika (Miami), Patipa (Kiev), Trilogy (Dubai), TuTu Tango (Curacao). In Holland he played at popular events like Housequake, Hed Kandi, Full Effect, Discotheque, Must, BNN Bed, Super Sunday and Vonk! on a regular basis, and performed at the big Dutch festivals Dancevalley, Sensation White, and Extrema Outdoor. His experience as a dj for almost 15 years, fine taste in music and dazzling 4-deck (!) dj skills, got Hardsoul's Dj Roog nickname him 'King of Acapellas' and is getting hands up in the air wherever he plays the funky sounds of BORN TO FUNK.
