A pioneer and dynamic force in the dance music industry, DJ Jali (Ja-LEE) never ceases to awe a crowd and even challenge his own musical sets. At a very young age, inspired by his ability to play the piano and guitar, music was his source of expression. DJ JALI explored the possibilities of music by spinning at house parties as a teenager growing up in Amsterdam. After experiencing the hypnotic atmosphere he could create through his music, there was no turning back for young JALI. He started composing his own music and practiced endlessly.
Jali soon decided what he should do with his talent. In 2002 He moved to Miami to study Audio Engineering at the SAE Institute of music production. He learned all the skills necessary to further his music career throughout this comprehensive learning experience. JALIs ambitious passion for music only grew after successful completion of the program. Miamis large music scene introduced many opportunities such as spinning at Ultra Festival during the Winter Music Conference. After several breakthrough accomplishments, he decided to move back to The Netherlands to further explore his musical roots. He soon landed a residency at "Club El Soos" (The Hague, The Netherlands). His initial residency opened the door for other club opportunities including residency at "Escape" and "Het Schuim" (Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Through his exposure and unique sense of sound, JALI earned a position consistently producing various professional musicians. He soon began devoting a lot of time outside of deejaying to work in the studio setting. This experience broadened his knowledge of music even further expanding through many different genres. His very unique and vibrant new style was quickly discovered.
In 2004 a European TV producer sought him out to take part in a major country wide hip-hop battle for a program called "Urban Lifestyle" on Netherlands MTV network "The Box". Not only did he record the entire show, but he also helped mix and master all of the music and sound. The major television event gave JALI another big boost in his music career as professionals in the industry were finally recognizing him. He was soon offered new opportunities in New York where upon arrival JALI instantly became consumed in his work. He started spinning in clubs at night in and around the northeast, and switched roles as an Acoustic Consultant for Alicia Keys recording studio during the day. After being discovered in his travels, he was offered many guest appearances not only in NYC but in the Boston area as well. Although often times exhausted, Jali was continually fueled by his ambition for success. At this time DJ Jali performed with such artists as: Sandra Collins, The Crystal Method, Donald Glaude, Darude, DJ Irene, Farrsheed, Interstate, Lavelle Dupree, Trevor Simpson, Marc Monaco, Charles Feelgood, Mark Lewis, J Scott G., Bassnectar and Steven Quarre to name a few. These experiences have all helped JALI push himself to excel in his own unique musical style.
In 2006 Jali was invited to perform at the Las Vegas Music Conference. This world-renowned exclusive music event was attended by some of the most influential record labels, artists, and producers in the industry. JALI performed at "The Empire Ballroom", club "ICE", and "Late Night Empire" (Las Vegas). Shortly after the conference events, JALI was on the road again performing at the "Winter Warp Drive" (St. Louis, MO) with the PanOptic crew that he joined in the beginning of 2007. JALI has most recently initiated an innovative new concept in the European club scene with an event called "Flirt-Class". A sold out opening night at "Club One Four" (The Hague, The Netherlands), proved the event was clearly very successful, and just a glimpse of things to come. Word of mouth is more powerful than any other form of promotion. The hype that was created from the "Flirt-Class" atmosphere and mood enhancing musical performance of JALI has given him another opportunity for a monthly residency in his homeland, The Netherlands.
Currently DJ JALI spins in Washington DC, St. Louis, New York, Illinois, Miami, and travels regularly to Amsterdam. Through many years of collecting, JALI has acquired a rather vast variety of music to create the perfect atmosphere wherever he spins. This collection allows JALI to spin a broad selection of electronic music, although he predominantly spins Minimal/Progressive/ House with a touch of Electro vibes. He continues to follow his passion by spreading his positive energy to others through his music. Completely open-minded, DJ JALI enjoys the endless possibilities music has and will continue to provide.
