Deejaying since 2004, upcoming Dutch dj Lupe made his name through his own Amsterdam-based parties UNK and Acid Nouveau. He quickly became an icon of Amsterdam nightlife!
At the age of 12 he started to buy records on early house labels like Jacktrax. These classics are once again influencing dance music worldwide and provide the starting point for his current style and taste. Lupe specialises in all kinds of the best electronic dance, defying genres and crossing the gap between serious electronica and the more poppy electroscene. Simple and infectious. With his broad range he never limits himself and more important, the crowd.
Lupe was nominated Best Newcomer Dj at the infamous Dutch Gouden Kabouter Awards in 2005, alongside his resident party UNK for Best Underground Clubnight. Another residency is Acid Nouveau at 11, Amsterdams premier club in featuring new dancestyles. He created the concept for this party through the new acidhouse-influenced sound, borrowing from the past and including new electro and minimal elements. Guests included Dj T, Argy and Dutch talents like Sandrien and Nuno Dos Santos.
The year 2005 saw him being introduced to the large audience, when party-organization ID&T recognized his taste and talent, and featured Lupe primetime in the minimal-to-nu-acid area of the Netherlands' largest indoor dance festival, Innercity.
In summer 2006 a new creative deejay experience followed. Lupe was asked to soundtrack the annual fashion shows of Arnhem's Academy, commonly perceived as Europe's best fashion academy. As a graduate in film studies at the University of Amsterdam, he used his developed sense of mood and timing to rock the crowd with a broad selection from minimal to disco.
He holds three residencies in Amsterdam clubs, Vreemd at the SugarFactory, FashionRadio in Studio 80 and Parkroom at Flex Bar.
Other successful gigs include Los Ninos in Brussels, Putsch, 5DaysOff, Sensation White, LFTFLD and Club Stalker, amongst o.a. Booka Shade, Tiga, Dj T, Miss Kittin, Heidi, 2000 and One, A Guy Called Gerald, Chelonis R. Jones, the Glimmers, Tommie Sunshine, Scissor Sisters´Sammy Jo, The Detroit Grand Pubahs, Joost van Bellen & Larry Tee.
