Biography Sandrino Beesley
Maybe it's due to his Italian sensitivities that Sandrino Beesley, and Anglo-Italian, is such an expert at seducing a crowd. Sandrino has a knack for using his wide ranging techniques to pull out emotions and reaction from clubbers which has already won him accolades from DJs such as Tom Stephan and Nico De Ceglia, Pete Tong's right hand.
Beesley started his music career at 17 when he presented a weekly radio show. While his contemporaries were playing commercial and handbag house, Sandrino had already found his sound spinning dark, minimal tunes by Germans like Sven Vath, Air Liquide that made him stand out from the crowd. His inimitable style led to Sandrino presenting shows on the Hit Channel radio station in Milan and the MTV and All Music.
Eight days after graduating from university, Sandrino left behind a promising law career and hopped on a plane to London with two bags full of demos and records. After beating the capital's streets and begging people to let him play, Sandrino soon found a following for his sound which although psychedelic at the core meanders its way through progressive, break beat, deep and electro influences. Within a short space of time Beesley had residencies at Trauma at Turnmills, Hung at The Archers and Crash.
Despite living in London, Sandrino found himself making frequent trips back to Milan where he mingled with the city's fashion crowd. Partying with designers, models and stylists it wasn't long before his talents as a DJ were noticed and in September 2003 Sandrino was asked by the Italian fashion house Allegri to compile and mix the soundtrack for their Spring/Summer collection during Milan Fashion Week.
After two years in the UK Sandrino moved to Milan and put the skills and invaluable contacts he made in London to profitable use. In 2004 Beesley meets Promoter Francesco S. and decided to form his own booking agency, Mcgroove, to boost his own career as well as other well known international DJs. Sandrino hit the ground running on his return to the bel paese. After inaugurating his return to Italy by playing alongside Steve Lawler at Cocorico, Sandrino embarked on his Geisha Tour, at Ultra Violet where he brought DJs including Tom Stephan, Sander K and James Zabiela to the Italian public's attention.
. Tom Stephan "I've had the opportunity to play with Sandrino a few times and this man knows how to get the party rocking! "
Sandrino also started a monthly event called Geisha at one of the most avant-garde and underground clubs in Milan. "The event is a show case where I get to play what I want. I spend the whole week running around like a madman but when the last Friday of the month comes it's my chance to have fun. I have the luxury of playing to a clued up fashionable crowd, that's a combination that's pretty rare in Italy." Sandrino performs for the Cocorico Tour throughout Italy and Europe.
Despite working away with his colleagues supervising his Management, Sandrino also finds time to work on productions with his partner Massi Arena with who he has produced the tracks 'Hi Scream' and 'Fat 'n' Clever' and now working on his through their EgoStereo project.
Still not content with the amount of work on his plate Sandrino is launching his own record label, Mcgroove Records. In March "Sudoku by EgoStereo" will be the first release. This track not yet on the market, has already been presented on Tom Stephan's "Late Night Session" on Kiss 100, and is one of his favourites.
